Lloyd Mize in pads and crushing real estate deals in Temecula

I love Jesus. I love my wife. I love history. And I love sports (especially football). A week or so ago I was reading about a discovery of some ancient history at the Dinosaur National Monument in Utah. Apparently a parking lot was being replaced when the workers stumbled on approximately 3000 pounds of fossils.

Apparently most of them belonged to a species named the Diplodocus. I wondered to myself, how do they know that? I mean how does all of that dirt and soot get removed to know what bone fits where, let alone what animal would claim ownership of the marrow casing.

I did a little research, to satisfy my curiosity, and found that, in the most delicate cases, micro blasting is used to clear away the years of debris. In fact, the highest quality, most precise tool; the one tool preferred by dino museums all over the world, is called Accuflo.

Accuflow is a tool developed right here in the Temecula valley! Who knew?! A tool so precise that it can remove microscopic layer after microscopic layer of that earthly prehistoric junk to get right to the bone without damaging it. It’s never BBBBBBBad to the Bone! (sorry, couldn’t resist a little George Thorogood reference). Can you imagine the precision involved in the use and the development of that tool?

While I was watching the Bills vs. Broncos Divisional playoff game, I found myself jumping out of my chair when our hometown boy, Khalil Shakir, caught a pass in the 4th quarter, split the defenders on the run, and sprinted 46 yards! Bills fan or not, you gotta cheer for one of Murrieta’s best. Of course, the play set up the Bills to score and send the game into overtime. If you're a football fan, you know the Bills could not bring the momentum home and the Broncos advanced to eventually lose to the Patriots in the Conference title match.

As I watched the replay of Shakir’s amazing contribution, I could not help but draw a comparison to the precision I had learned about just a few days ago. A body and mind so well trained to know exactly what steps to take, what moves to make while sprinting at full speed (all cylinders firing)!

Discipline, training, execution, and trust are the order of some of the finest tuned living human organisms on the planet. The 49ers Christian McCaffrey, may have said it best a couple weeks back, "it's not one play here or there, it's a life of work and consistency, most important thing to keep in mind is execution and physicality, one play at a time, trusting each other." Like Shakir, he won’t be going to the big game.

Another Temecula born pigskin warrior is Justin Dedich now playing for the L.A. Rams. After the Divisional nail-biter with the Bears, Justin advanced to the final four with the Seahawks and was stopped short of the big game in the Conference playoffs.

I’ve just highlighted three players, but there are so many that come to this point in the season. Fully primed, the playing field leveled, ready to leave everything on the field with exceptional precision.

Win or lose for our hometown heroes or the hometown heroes from any city USA, it’s just a thrill to watch these human precision marvels. Unlike the Accuflo device developed at MMT here in Temecula, these human specimens come from a long line of iterations developed over thousands of years by the God of the universe. In a dichotomy that many have attempted to push forward, man is not perfect because God is but yet God created man then why is not man perfect. Ah, because with great precision, God will perfect the love that comes from the imperfection.

That is the essence of the first letter from John to church members. He reminds all followers of Jesus, and anyone else who might pick up his letter, that “No one has ever seen God; if we love one another, God abides in us and his love is perfected in us.” (ch. 4:12)

In this case, precision comes through our ability to love like Jesus. When we’re precise, He is perfected in us, and others see Him through us. Personally, I think that is why many professional football players, at the peak of their earthly legacy and at the highest point of their financial success and at the widest point of their fame, are motivated to point to Jesus–the one who is really perfect–and thank Him for their success.

Super Bowl Sunday is February 8th. Precision from the Patriots and the Seahawks will be full-on display. As you watch the fireworks of human competition remember the precision you witness on the field is, by the confession of many of those playing, no comparison to the perfect precision of Jesus.

Do you know Him? If you said no… I can introduce you. Just connect with me.

So there it is, a blog with history, precision, football, and my absolute favorite subject, Jesus. When it comes to real estate, I can only hope my precision in my profession is as well tuned as those on the field February 8th. I may not be perfect, but I am considered an expert at getting you from where you are to where you want to be in your next home purchase or sale.

Until next time, go Chargers!
