Temecula Builds

If you’ve read my blog often, you know that I’m fond of beginning with the phrase "I love the Temecula Valley." I just can’t help it! Our cities are fantastic! While I was driving around visiting properties last week, I couldn’t help but notice the incredible amount of construction currently underway throughout our cities. I actually had to stop and snap a few pictures for you. It wasn’t because I find construction equipment or excavated ground naturally beautiful; rather, I wanted to capture evidence of the amazing community we live in. At a time when the national economy is improving but remains somewhat sluggish, we live in a city where people and organizations continue to thrive and expand. Temecula is always building, and it does so in ways you may not see all at once. 

Much like these construction projects—where we initially see only the heavy machinery—it may be months before we witness the final results, and perhaps even longer to fully realize what these additions will contribute to our community. However, it is that hopeful future that draws me to the very beginning of a project. These sites are signs of a developing economy and symbols of hope for future development. They represent a collective confidence in our ability to continue thriving through new businesses and adventures. Many of these current projects are slated for completion within the next 5 to 11 months.

Beyond physical ground-breaking, our beautiful city is also building hope through innovative local initiatives. You may have missed the news, but this past May, the City of Temecula was recognized with a very impressive award for its TVE2 initiative. TVE2 stands for the Temecula Valley Entrepreneur Exchange, and it is truly a start-up's best friend. Functioning as an incubator focused on innovation and regional economic growth, the exchange provides start-ups with practical business support, including growth strategies, workshops, financing, planning, and marketing, mentoring connections, and even office space through the co-located Entrepreneurial Resource Center (ERC). 

The results of these efforts are substantial. According to a recent report by San Bernardino News, the TVE2 program has supported over 50 start-up businesses and helped infuse approximately $515,000 in capital into the region. These efforts have added over 2,000 jobs to our local economy and provided training to more than 3,500 entrepreneurs and small business owners.

Furthermore, TVE2 hosts a partnership-driven initiative that brings together various services and organizations to rapidly build and strengthen the foundations of new local businesses.

The recognition, the 2026 Award of Merit in Programs and Promotions, was presented by the California Association for Local Economic Development for the bi-annual Temecula Small Business Market Program.

This achievement is yet another indicator of a city that truly has its act together! Did you know that Temecula has become the only debt-free city in the state of California? But that's a different blog for another day.
